Turkey is a holiday legend. It is one of the most popular destinations in the Mediterranean; the coastal towns of Antalya, Alanya, Bodrum, Marmaris, Didim and you name it host millions of visitors every summer from all over Europe and the United States.Through this petition,we want to teach murderous Turkish authorities a good lesson. We are going to make them realize that nobody will visit Turkey so long as these mass killings continue, and that the whole world will know each time when there is a new killing in this land of torture. We want them to realize that we will never stop unless and until those poor animals -animals which are raped, tortured, murdered, gunned down or locked down in hellish shelters everyday- are given a life in dignity.
Tell Turkish authorities that you refuse to travel to Turkey until the animal massacre stops !!!

Bad regards

Whoa, I didn’t know this was going on in Turkey! Glad I found out….My family (including my husband’s parents, sister and her family) were planning a month-long vacation to Istanbul.
NEVERMIND! After discussing this with all invloved, we have decided to CHANGE OUR VACATION PLANS. Turkey will NOT receive a dime from THIS animal-friendly family until this colossal tragedy ends.
yes, I will not travel to turkey, and yes another country on my personal blacklist.
goodbye turkey
I am a Turk living in Istanbul and I verify that these claims are all true.
This is not to be posted. I am writing just to get in touch with the site admin.
I received new pictures of municipality officials shooting and destroying dogs. I looked for your e-mail on the site but couldn’t find it.
If you contact me at my e-mail address (registered in your db) I will send them.
Thank you for bringing all these to the attention of Offical Authorities. Ofcourse, any type of violance against animals can not be accepted. We have innocent animals and cruel people at the same time just like anyother country on the globe. I hope people who have done all these things should be warned and taken to the court for their cruality.
But, as a citizen of this beautiful country and very busy dealing with hectic staff of modern life, I do not find it very reasonable to start a whole “hate campaign” against the country. Anyone is welcome here. Please keep your animal love alive.
This site and the comments are just a set up. It is so clear that all commends are made by the same group of people. and i am sure that my commend will not be approved as it is.
I am a turkish citizen and operate an apartment hotel in the holiday resort Marmaris. I am animal friend and wished that all of my fellow citizens loved and respected animals like myself. Unfortunately this is not the case so I understand the motivation behind this petition however I think it’s counter-productive to its purpose.
See, most of the better-situated thus better-educated turks have pets at home and they love and respect animals. The cruelties against animals in turkey are mostly carried out by people of lower leves of the society who have bad or now education at all.
So the issue here is education!
However a good education system costs money and Turkey is by no means a rich country.
Therefore penalizing Turkey by not spending your holidays there cannot contribute in any way to improving the fate of animals in Turkey.
every country have a problem about animals. These photo’s may be true but all animals don’t live this situation.I’m turk I live in istanbul but there is no claim here.ı have a dog,ıt’s labrodor.ı found it street.it has earring.Municipality make vaccine every year.Don’t believe to hear.Come there. If you are see claims, don’t come our country.thx.
As a turkish national, I am feeling deeply ashamed of this situation in Turkey. I fully support your campaign. I want you to know that the truth about animals living or traveling in Turkey is WORSE than this.
I am so sorry to seen this kind of things often around the world. This is not only about the Turkey. Everywhere on the world you can see similar images. This happening in uk as well. Uk has traditional rabbit and dog races. Actually it is not ”race”. Big dogs letting free to destroy and catch the little rabbit and people enjoying that as well. When you judge some country or somebody else, please look at your history first and you will see how barbarian you are! If you are really thinking you are right about this matter do same campaign to Canada as well. Still i cant forget how they were destroying the foxs last a few weeks ago!!!
Dear all:
please do not beleive such provokative news!! that news is totaly false and distorting the thruth!! similar pictures could be gathered from every country in the world!…
the snake was hit by the car and killed accidently.. and the guy on the picture simly was removing the snake from the road..
the pure dogs on the picture was seek and had some disease…You can find such dogs everywhere in the world..
I m so sad why peoplw do such news to tarnish image of Turkey, one of the best friendly nation in the world!!
I m really fed up…
the commenter, highly probably PKK supporter, is lying purely…the dogs which are executed also the ones which can never be treated since they had ilnesses that really cannot be cured!!!
Please DO NOT beleive in such false rumors!!! why such news comes only in tourism sesions?? please think about of the timing….that is all about commercial…such news are routed from the rivals of Turkey in tourism…
Kind regards, Yusuf Canakkale
there is not more than die in m25 motorway…how many steakhoese you have in england or let me ask you that how much meat consumed per person a year in england …and a little arithmethich calculation in comparison with turkey’s consumption…its obvious that more animal killed in your country than any other developing country …and you eat them all with pleasure…or you have it made bye new zealand(your subcontractor)…is it fair?
Hi I am from Turkey. I accept that all these incidents are sahameful for us. But there are a lot of foundations in Turkey to protect animals and animal rights. I am sure of that there are a lot of people in your countries also behaving bad to animals, torturing to them, maybe killing them. But I know that this does not mean neither all of your people nor your governments behaving such that way to animals.
I mean This protest, or refusing to travel Turkey is a punishment for all of my country and this behaviour is a little populist. There must be some regulations about laws in order to create a harmony in global perception. Because of that we must not blame people. We have to start thinking about what should be done to protect people, environment and animals.
Best Regards
On the highways you can see cars still running over the corpes of dogs stick to the ground. Nobody is doing anything!!
People and authorities are all ignorant..
some individual cases here for blaming my beautifull country…listen your heart…dont believe internet morons…come and visit turkey…see why they lying for…
Crusader…Crusader…Crusader….You look!!!
Crusader…Crusader…Crusader….You look!!!
Are you crazy? That staff isnt true.. Turkey is a heaven, not like england.. if you dont like turkey you wont come. But in england there are people who like turkey! And they will come.. We are hospitable person, we arent cold like english people and england!!..
Turkey is a lion country, we have a very beautiful places..
This site to cross out Turkey, please dont believe this staff
How can Europe and England forget that like everywhere there are people who treats animals badly? Massacre is a big accusation and we cant accept it. you cant arrogate such a big accusation to a nation. I certainly dont accept that Turkey’s minister of culture doesnt take precautions against these kind of crimes.Turkish government applies strict penalties against the people who do such crimes. Does anybody know the penalties applied for the criminals?? any idea?? These kind of news harms people of that country. please be fairer.

These 10-15 extram pics , you are righ there are some stubips in Turks but you say all turks are enemies of animals. No …!
Also Please chek on youtube slaughterhouses in europe.
not only Turkey … Thats not righteous ! I think your problem whit Turks !
Curse on those whoever torture/kill animals anywhere in the world!
Here to support you as a Turkish national.
Its hard for me to admit, but yes as a turk i have to accept the facts and say most of these stories are true and ive witnessed worse.
Yet i must say, although this site may have good intentions, the way it generalizes will not get it anywhere… you all have to focus on the specific authorities who are allowing these brutal acts (some who were mentioned above) and not just attack a whole nation.
to see my point just visit the following turkish website – a TURKISH organization set up to protect animals in turkey… (and there are dozens of other turkish organizations with similar intentions)
http://www.haytap.org/
I’m a Turkish Citizen living in Turkey at the moment and I do not agree with all the claims here. All right, Turkey is not a paradise for animals I can say, but it is all about the economic conditions and because of a few under-educated people. I don’t think you can judge a group of 70 million people and all those beauties in a country just because of 20-30 brain lacking people in it. In my opinion, this site is serving for some different aims….Hope you post this message…
Best,
I can post hundreds of photos of animals which were tortured or murdered in different countries. Morever I mean massacre! Remember recent seal massacre in Canada or pay hunting for richmen in many locations. They kill goats and deers just for pleasure. And it’s called sports!
This happens not only in Turkey but also anywhere in the world. Please look once again the photos of torture in my country. All were tortured or killed by psychopathic persons and maniacs. And those are not more than one in a million.
I shame breathing the same air with these maniacs. But please tell me, isn’t it too big price for the rest of the tenderhearted Turkish people.
Remember we live in a world where people still being tortured and killed!
I am a Turk living in London. I have witnessed animal curelty in the Uk many times too.
Just a month ago 2 dogs have been thrown away from a car speeding 80 miles on the motorway just for fun. Unfortunately one of the dog has been hit by another speeding car on the motorway.
Have you heard about the farmer in Cheltenham . He has been raping his animals for ages.
Do you ever read what is happining in the Uk too. Animal curelty is everywhere STOP it everywhere.
please protest also canada for seals hunt, spain for toros and england red fox hunt.be honest and critise all contries without prejudice.
regards
selcuk
I’m Turkish too. I want to ask 1 question to you : Don’t you have some people in a ghoul????? Some people killed the seals in north pole!!!! Why didn’t you refuse them? I’m sure there are too many animals sick or die in another countries!!!!! And you must know 1 thing!!!! WE LOVE THE ANIMALS!!!
1 thing more… The animals on this photos, they are sick animals and their diseases are catching. So, is that anormal kill this sick animal?????????? What? They must live and catched another animals ha?Do You want it!!! You are very very very biassed!!!
And my people never think wrong things for you… you are very biassed! You must see and then award it……
Yeah, Instaed of going Turkey, go to China. They eat dogs, bugs and other kind of animals that you loved so much. Also, the people who writes their opinion in this web site will be more happy to eat them rahter than Turkish people kill animals.
Do Not attack my country like that! Yea i know its a shame but u cant do that, collect all bad pictures and show people here to refuse.U think All of ur people are good? If u think so u r blind i think… Actually i just want to say that.. Of course its ur decision to come here or not but U cant attack my country like that.. It’s not fair..
Hi ya,
I am very glad for people who do not come to Turkey as a Tourist.
We are making activities to stop foreign tourist to stop travelling to Turkey.
In 1980 before the Tourist boom, Turkey’s economy was better than today. Tourist boom in Turkey contributed nothing to economy.
The main reason for that, tourists bring money to the Country but alongside they also bring diseases. Beside, tourists causes social destruction in our relatively conservative society.
Turkey pays a lot of money to import medicine from abroad to treat these diseases brought mainly by tourists such as aids, funguses, sexually transmitted diseases etc. The amount of money Turkey pay to import medicine is more than the tourism industry’s income.
Turkey also has to pay to treat the Social destruction caused by tourists. Before the tourism boom Turkish people were not aware about gay culture. It now destroys our people.
Thanks to you, we are going to add our activities, animal execution in front of tourist to stop tourist coming to Turkey. This is because our people are much more important than animals. We would like to save our people first. Animals come second.
Do not come to our Country.
you have 48 hours to close this illegal website, or will hack it and will put bad thing about your country.
yeah yeah such things only happens in Turkey. There is no any whale, seal systematic massacres in Canada, Japan, Norway ! Dont come to Turkey please visit these so-called “civilized” countries.
Do you really think that this is only happening in Turkey?
it happens daily everywhere in the world. It is said but infact it is a fact!
I dont agree that we should avoid going on vacation to Turkey i love that country and i cant stand reading this kind of campaigns.
This kind of campaigns are not justified because there is so much more going on in the world.
Shall we not go to Japan because they are killing (slaughtering – in your words) whales?
Shall we not go to France because they kill frogs?
what about Thailand shall we not go because of the turtle massacres?
Or shall we just not go to austria because of the incest story?
There are many endless other examples…
Just because some people made some mistakes we can’t blame everyone for this and let them pay the fee for this.
Turkey is a wonderful country and there are many whole hearted people fighting for animal rights as well. So please think twice before you mobilise the people for a boycot.
thanks and regards
Well, i m a Turk and live in Istanbul and i have to say that i never actually see things like these happened. These things can not be regarded as like Turkish nor Greek people torture animals. im sad about all those things but its not only happening in Turkey but all around the world. Cruelty doesnt have any nation and nations do not torture, people do. People who harm or torture any living being have no country nor flag. I m not sure about Turkish Penal Code about animal rights but im sure it needs improvements and adjustments but this is not the right way, nobody has the right to offend any nation, as an example:
“Turkey shows neither compassion and respect for human live nor for animal life …… in my opinion they are so far away from being even only remotely considered European as possible. Watch out Turkey – you have awakened the world to pay attention to what you actually do!!! – Your fasade is crumbling and the true “you” is becomming visible at last.”
Well according to these kind of posts i see that its not about animal or human rights. On the contrary these kind of racist comments have nothing to do with human nor animal rights. People like these tend to be directed easily by hatred becouse they dont respect any other culture or any other living being.
I m from Istanbul too,and i sadly admit that all is true. That cruelness of people here towards animals is fact.I have a cat myself and its more worth than anything else i d consider as purchasable. That Dolphing story has caught me deeply,my heart almost blasted.I still cant understand how people i same country i live in can be that homicide.
That ridiculous Minister of that horrible ruling party here wont be capable to do anything. He is a clown.A comedian (an untalented one).Sorry guys.Sorry my dear lovely, beautiful species, creatures for what these people have done to you.May you rest in peace in the most pleasant corner in heaven….
personally, i will visit turkey anyway, because im really not against snakes dying!! its a good thing!! and this stuff goes on in every country not just turkey, so u know!! no point!
This is ridiculous.
So you people are telling me that nothing like this whatsoever ever, ever happens in any part of England, even the shitholes?
Give me a break.
The stuff that you see on this site I agree, isn’t very nice to see. But as a person who has been living here for a good many years now, I can safely say that I haven’t seen any intentional torture or killing of animals.
As for the stray dogs, yes, that is true and that is sad. The governement does a piss poor job taking care of them. Vets aren’t enough in number, and under-staffed and under-stocked. There should be a serious effort to take better care of that problem.
But intentional murder and torture.. that is ridiculous, and I’m sure you all know it deep down.
I am member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals Association of Turkey(civil society association in Izmir)
Firstly, there are several animal problems in Turkey but rates are lower than many European states(including Malta) in ANIMAL maltreatment index. Therefore, you should apply Animal Rights ASSOCIATION and get more information about animal’s situation in Europe.Of course if you love animals.
Secondly, althogh,Turkish citizens don’t allow somebody to kill or torture to animals,Unfortunately, there are still animal problams exist in Turkey.
finally,Turkey is on my personal blacklist too(even i am turkish). But i can say that Turkey have a good place for animal rights in Mediterranean region. We are working for solve all animal problems around the Turkey and World
Dear All My Friends,
Please do not blame all the Turkish people for this shaming issue. There are and will be always butcher people across the world also in Turkey, I’m also working for an organisation for the animals rights. Don’t you see the japanese people who are killing the innocent dolphins so that do you refuse to travel tokyo? Definetly not, as i said before, time is cooperation time not refusing. We will delete a nation with each other.
Best Wishes…
Murat Satana
that happens all over the world. you are telling that to people like its rule in turkiye. but its not. we love animals and we all try to take care of them. ofcourse there has to be somethings going like the man on the picture. but he is njot representing all of our country. so stop tring to punish our country. we are not animal killers. and the turkish guy: what kind of man are you can you tell me. these people are saying bad things about your country. and you are trying to help them. are you an your mind. go see a doctor or something. and you other people: dont belive the pictures. just ask your friends who come and visit our wonderfull country. they will tell you what kind of people we rae and what kind of country is Türkiye.
Best wishes for every one.
and mr mod. I hope you wont erase my message. thats my right you know. and ofcourse thank you for worning us about that. ofcourse we will try to stop these kind of bad things.
I am sorry of them.
Hi,
I’m from Turkey.. I’m glad that you made this kind of web site….The condition of animals in Turkey is awfull. They live on the streets and most of them are hungry.. Some people torture them like that..
But the reason why the Turkish people and the Turkish state don’t give so much attention to this issue is because there are a lot of Turkish people who live in the same condition.. There are human beings who have been tortured in the Turkish prisons and on the streets like these animals..
Everyone knows that “wealth” makes people more educated. If people are poor and have so many problems they don’t give attention to these problems and they create these disgusting problems..
The problem is not the “Turkish” or “English”.. The problem is the unequality in the world.. In my opinion the English-British state is the one of the main actors behind the poverty and wars in the world..
I hope that you are so sensitive on this issue as well…!
so what… like we have not seen any familiar pictures all around the world.. we are all animal lovers but just bcos a few bad apples happen to act this way is no reason to judge evrything else by this.. nearly all EU countries test products on animals..i have personally seen worse places than turkey.. has no one seen what happens in the usa in animal research labs? or when the chinese sell cat/dog meat in certain parts of the country..?? refusing not to go doesnt change anythıng..if ur truly an animal lover… you will go to make a difference..
i am a turk and i am an animal lover but this massacre.. leaves me totally speechless and you are right whatever you say but consider this, i love all types of animals and i also have a dog which i love as much as my closest friends. our types of people also live here. The pictures posted here almost gave me a heart attack, i am so sorry. Full support from me to you at your case
Are you sure that all photos are from Turkey? Where are references?
This is nonsense, I can show you 10 times more scary pictures from us. In fact there is a discovery channel documentary about the animal police, how they find animals who are treated like crap. Anyway, if you have too much time in your hands, go protest china where there is no stray animal at all, since they eat it all…
i’m living in turkey, and laughing to you all, who is the owner of this adress but they exaggerated so much, we have a very old civilization living in all raound the world, a few personal behavior couldn’t be belong to all the turkish people. i want to see the pictures of seals killed every year in northern europe for their furs by hittin their heads when their alive, and also fox hunt in england, don’t forget the bulls killed by matadors in spain in this site too. Come turkiye and see the truth with ur eyes….
regards YEK
Hi! I am from Turkey.
I am really very sad that theese pictures are from my country!
I’m supporting you campaign. Theese authorities must pay for that shame!
I amTurkish and I accept we have a problem with especially stray dogs in Turkey. However Turks have always loved animals be it horses or cats or dogs…and few cases should not put a bad name on a whole nation. As if Turks are the only brutal people torturing animals…right…
So what will you guys do now?
Cancel your vacations Turkey and instead go to Spain and watch bull fights?? Or to Canada enjoy slaughtering seals as a sport???? Or to Egypt, to join a female (human) genital mutilation ceremony??
Yeah, if so please do so….OR go to Turkey this summer and see what you would be missing…be fair ! Go see with your own eyes….!
( I apologise from Spanish, Canadian and Egyptians for the paragraph above… But there is a problem, yes, and it’s everywhere…)
I protest very strongly against any kind of cruelty to animals. Yet, your site seems to be a down right attack on Turkish tourism. I think you need to get your priorities right. Are you more concerned about the outrageous killings or are you trying to hamper Turkey’s tourism industry. I find it extremely dificult to find you sincere.
Here is a question you might want to answer. What happens to all those pets that your government can’t find homes for? In my book, killing pets behind closed doors is no more innocent than killing them in the public eye. Do you condenm your own government with the same effort and energy? To you protest tourists coming into your country?
Can you also tell me what happens to the 1000’s of pets bought for children on christmas? I’m sure your familiar with the expression ‘ a pet for life not just for christmas.’ Where do these pets end up?
All animals have as much right to live as we do, and millions of Turks would say the same. However, this site is offensive in content and seems to result in hatred towards the Turkish people. There are more constructive ways of protesting such outrageous incidents.
I am Turkish and I accept we have a problem with especially stray dogs in Turkey. However Turks have always loved animals be it horses or cats or dogs…and few cases should not put a bad name on a whole nation. As if Turks are the only brutal people torturing animals…right…

WE ARE SORRY.BUT WE AREN’T KİLLER.THIS IS OUR SHAMEFUL.ONLY PLEASE COME TO TURKEY AGAİN.I SAID WE AREN’T KİLLER…
hello,
I am from Turkey, Istanbul. Sorry to read all the things on this website, here I dont only see animal-love, I can also feel the hatred towards Turkey and Turkish people.
that’s true that some unwanted bad events happen to animals, about which I am also so sad. I evaluate it as a freakness of instable people. But as far as I see here on this website, u act like this kinda things are only going on in Turkey, and all turkish people hate animals and do nothing about it! Then u gotta come and see my neighbourhood, all the people feeding the cats and dogs and birds here!!!
and I am sure Turkey is not the only country that these are going on! u r asking our minister to wake up, but u urself wake up!
If u r fair enough, put my message on website and I will be glad to read the comments and reply!
The animal cruelty is a known fact and existing in all countries including UK, USA etc..
But UK first should learn how to feel sorry for the innocent people dying in Irak!
Why dont you open a web site showing the massacre over there?
fatih, never mind my friend, they arent cerious about realy people. they just cerious about animals.while they are having 7 children from their own doughter they are human, while they are fireing peoples houses when they are inside, they are people,
and when some one make something stupid from turkey we rae animals.
I wanna stay as animal like my self.
YOUR CHOISE TO GO ANYWHERE FOR HOLIDAY.
Is this some joke, helping some animals life instead of the human life.. these are typical european BS, like your dictators in europe called dewinter, wilders, haider and some italian bastards who are involving sports with politics.. you people are not for the poor animals, but if you do really something for them then you would not boycott Türkiye by travelling etc. and you should not only watch at Türkiye but also against canada, iceland, norway, japan etc. who are cruelly against the nature.. and yes i condemn the so-called Turkish party: arap ve kürt Partisi (akp).. but look at your countrypirates (england) first.. falkisland is still argentinian, gibraltar is spanish and cyprus is still TURKISH and btw we are the people who lived with the animals for centuries and came to europe with them.. wolves, horses, dogs(kangaldogs), eagles etc. are our sign
I THINK YOU KEEP KILLING THE PEOPLE NOT ONLY THE ANIMALS. YOU TRY TO REFLECT YOUR INSANITY TOWARDS US. TURKEY IS PARADISE. TURKEY IS WORTH TO GO. I DONT MIND WHETHER YOU ARE COMING OR NOT. YOU NEED TO TACLE YOUR PROBLEMS LIKE BINGE DRINKING, LOTS OF ASBO’S. GUNNED CRIME, ETC.
I THINK YOU LOOK YOUR BUSINESS NOT THE OTHER NATIONS. BUT YOU KNOW YOU ARE VERY NOTORIOUS PUT YOUR NOSE INTO OTHERS. WE DONT NEED LIKE YOU BARBARIC BRITONS. STAY WHERE YOU ARE!
Dear Readers,
It is very sad what happened to these poor animals. But cruel people are living all around the world, not only in Turkiye.
We are all against it.
You call it massacre.
Massacre means we are after each and every living animal.
Such a claim is just untrue and funny.
It is also unfare and shame to blame a nation, because of bad people you can easyly find anywhere.
In general, Turks have a better understanding about what you simply call love and care.
Best regards,
I am strictly opposed to your shameful convictions about Turkey. First of all, you should realize that this boycot has been offered by some Europan Tourism Agencies so that they will not loss any tourist profit. Be senseful. You, Eropians, every year you are coming Turkey and having the best service and destinations with the least price. Our manucipalities are only, compulsorily, killing some animals for some contagious diseases. The picture you show on your website are real but these are the stupitness of some ignorant people and all countries on earth have such mindless citizens at some rate.Just beacuse of these stupit igonrants you can not blame Turkey!!! I hope you will also offer some objections to the killed people all over the world every day. Despite my anger, GOOD REGARDS ( attributed to Dora Hardegger)
Hello,
I would like to say this happening anywhere in the world not only in Turkey. So Turkey just the one of them. Why dont you look at Asian Countries they eat Dogs and cats.
So I think Stop blaming Turkey. I think Turkey is a very nice and very friendly Country. Yes few people make mistakes but you dont have to blame whole country for that.
THank You.
Eric
DONT REFUSE TO TRAVEL DONT LEAVE THE ANIMALS ALONE COME AND TRY TO DO SOMETHING MOST OF THE STRAY DOGS CATS PROTECTION CENTERS ARE SUPORTED FROM ENGLAND COME AND INSPECT THEM COURAGE THEM.VERY EASY TO FINDOUT THEIR ADRESS (EACH LOCATION NEAR SEASIDE HAS ONE) .YOU WILL SEE PEOPLE FROM TURKEY WILL BE WITH YOU.
REGARDS
Hey there,
First of all, I appreciate the topic you focus on, but not the way you follow. The animal murders in Turkey also worries me as much as you, but still I can’t understand how it can be related with the tourism of Turkey.
For instance I am not building a website against whole England telling that the English politicians are the king of bloody capitalism, there have been lots of murders and colonies of England all over the world and so many same examples. I dont think that it’s a good way to blame all the country. Protesting must be in other ways, if we all are worrying about the deaths of animals , we must focus on animals not to different topics…
Short of all, good thoughts but wrong way…We can share ideas about this topic, you agree or are against, lets discuss ..
Onur, Istanbul
mail: ozdemiron1@yahoo.com
I’m an animal-lover, too. I got so sorry about these mistakes. But there is a mistake too: It mustn’t be dedicated to whole country. It’s aPERSONEL MISTAKE, NOT NATIONAL. Also; be sure about this: Ther is so so much people that loves animals more than their own children…And also sure about Turkey is the one of the best paradises on world:))
Your Sincerely…
LLM Gulsum SEZEN UYGUR
I live in İstanbul and I’m a turk. I love human and animal. I know my family and my friends love human and animal too. But yes, we have a few maniac citizen.
Your protestation is not effective, you are only damage to local turistic company. It is not nice for our poor country
If you can find a real solution about justice of animals the turkish people will support to your protest
Justice for everybody
Yours respectfully
Serdar Saygılı
the information given is true, the criticisms are in place, but sitll the reaction is a little too strong. It’s true that Turkish officials are not as sensible as they should be and that the issue of animal rights is a big problem in Turkey but there are other ways to protest. A boycott would harm the relations between the two countries and there are incidents like this going on all over the world so I think Turkey is a victiom of a prejudice here. Of course I am not saying that the problem shouldn’t be fixed but this is not the way. Then again it’s anybody’s personel choice to come or not to come to Turkey but you shuold reconsider….
Hi,
l m turkish and l live in kusadasi. You know what we do in kusadasi? We collect all the cats and dogs from the streets and we operate them for birth control by veterinary who is my friend and beside we have many english friends who help us for this work.
There is also a special place for to look after this kind of animals provided by the municipality…
And we have animal lovers&care associations here..
So’ pls do not generalize…
Beside something bad things also something good things happening…
Maybe We cant solve everything but we can try at least…That is what we do here…
Best regards..
Ps. The wiew changes from what direction we look at it…
Damn, people are killing others in EVERY COUNTRY including England.
I dont say these claims are lies. Well I dont know anything about this claims.
Even if they are true, these are induvidual faults. Nobody can claim these incidents are sistematic and a conclusion of the policies of the Turkish State.
I can guess by whom and why these provocations are done.
Dont forget innocent children (not animals) are and were being killed as a result of your country’s sistematic policies on middle east and on damn oil.
“English” People!! You are not angles.
If something is wrong here, guilties will be punished and measures will be taken, but not for you to visit Turkey.
Even if when everything is ok here, dont come.
PLEASE DO NOT COME TO MY COUNTRY!!! DO NOT!!! DO NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a Turk I fully support your petition, despite having animal rights protection laws in place the government both at a local and central level by in large is not enforcing these laws. The only way to ensure the fair treatment of animals in Turkey is to hit us where it hurts the most, I am appealing to all foreigners to not go to Turkey until concrete measures are taken to ensure the protection of animals.
Feel free to not to go to Turkey.
Poor animals. Freaks are everywhere… It is horrible that they treat animals like that.
However, at the same time, please remember, you can’t blame 70 some million Turks for this. There are so many animal lovers in Turkey too.
I totally support what you are doing; trying to protect animals…but please let’s be fair…
Some pictures can be true but most of them were taken out of their context. I live in Turkey and I don’t see animals torture. You can not judge and punished one whole country for some idiots.
And to Dora Hardegger I hope you will never live an earthquake, a tornado or fires… because some people may think like you. First you have to love human to love animals.
Such not-nice sceneries can be visible all around the world, even in so called developed countries namely Norway, Canada, Japan, Spain etc.
A few people’s wrong mentality, and to reflect this mentality to all the nation is as cruel as these things happened to the animals. The stones are attached to the tail of Turkey this time.
Just to mention one country, from only one perspective and trying to hit the issue via tourism industry is not helping to solve the situations!!
Solutions are through practical actions; why dont you adopt kittens or dogs among these homeless instead of fancy ones that are not even born? why dont you donate a few cents to an animal care?? why dont you work voluntarily in a local NGO?? etc..etc..
Be fair!! and learn more about Turkey, not biased though!!
Please look at this….
It seems not in Turkey
http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,23813675-5001021,00.html
I am really ashamed of what’s going on. But is that the right attitude to refuse coming to Turkey henceforth? There is a saying in Turkey: to leave the namaz (islamic ritual of worship) for getting angry at the imam (preacher)…
I totally agree that the killings must be made known to everyone and Turkey must be protested for sake of animal rights… But i am not quite sure whether it will get better or worse if the animal right protectors declare Turkey enemy and cut contact with her… I did not experience any problems solved through hostility…Hostility only gives birth to more hostility…
I hope the officials take necessary steps soon and killings come to an end… (i hope you sincerely hope this, too)
By the way, I hope no earthquake happens in UK or elswhere Dora… I hope you did not really mean what you have written…
Well, there’s also a lot of people in Turkey who try to do something good for the animals. In the town I live local residents get together and fundraise to help the street dogs and cats. They’ve managed to open an animal recue centre where volunteers regularly go to help out and they’ve managed to neuter over 300 hundred animals in the last few months with the funds raised. So don’t tar everyone with the same brush. There are many many Turks trying to help.
Esra, we are guilty, we elected those bloodsuckers, we didnt charge those dophin killers, we are guilty for that, denying wont change it.
I’m so sorry for behalf of my country.. I really felt so ashamed and embarrassed.. Turkish goverment is now busy with exterminating the street animals to get the city ready for the city of culture in 2010. please help us to stop the massacre of these innocent animals.
how sad that it took someone from another country to try and put a stop to this injustice. ive heard so many stories on animal cruelty here it makes me sick. however, ive been here 8 months and have not seen it with my own eyes and have travelled to many states in turkey. sure petition it BUT i feel as though the ppl behind this website are against more then just the inhumane acts against animals. i feel propaganda here, how do we know this isnt just some other way of getting tourist to stop coming to turkey just so it can hurt the economy . as if this kind of thing doesnt happen anywhere else in the world.yes its disgusting, but there are other ways to put an end to this.
to me this website is nothing more than racial defamation. if ur going to act out against something wrong then go about it the right way please.
there is a big generalisation being made here about the Turkish people and i do not appreicaite it, i too love animals and wish it would stop but right now i feel not only disgusted at the ppl who committed such crimes but at the ppl who put up this website.
by telling ppl not to come here you are punishing 69.99 million other ppl who are not in these photos and who u have no proof of having commited such crimes.
Why Turkey?? if u are going to be such heros there are other people in other countries out there (which i will not name) who also commit such brutality. It isnt just turkey stop trying to single out the Turks…
Hello
in USA they kill animals in shelter everyday ,and they call it that they put on sleep , go outside and look if you c any cat or dog running around ? why ?because they killied by goverment , my mother lives in Istanbul and she takes cares all street dogs everyday, she providetheir shuts, of course like other countries in Turkey sometimes painful result canbe but this is not reason to stop visit thois beautiful country, england, usa, france kind of contries reason for people death in this world , that STOP going there too,
I am Turkish and I accept we have a problem with especially stray dogs in Turkey. However Turks have always loved animals be it horses or cats or dogs…and few cases should not put a bad name on a whole nation. As if Turks are the only brutal people torturing animals…right…
So what will you guys do now?
Cancel your vacations to Turkey and instead go to Spain and watch bull fights?? Or to Canada to enjoy slaughtering seals as a sport???? Or to Egypt, to join a female (human) genital mutilation ceremony??
Yeah, if so please do so….OR go to Turkey this summer and see what you would be missing…be fair ! Go see with your own eyes….!
I apologise from Spanish, Canadian and Egyptians for the paragraph above… But there is a problem, yes.. and it’s everywhere…
HERE IS AN IDEA… DON’T COME!
In Austria they are collecting the cats from the streets and they are mashing them and making food for the animals in schönbrunn zoo…
(I am making it I read it from an Austrian newspaper)
Wellcome to Vienna.
ones upon a time a British couple was living in Marmaris. They had two dogs .When they decided to go back to the UK they just left the dogs behind without even looking back!!Just left them!!.The dogs were brought to a shelter by the neighbours and one of them was beaten and biten by the other dogs .The health condition was so bad that they decided to sleep it to death in order to ease his pain since they tought it was not possible to save but my niece was there (she is a volunteer in the shelter) and she was very sorry and she kept the dog and look after him.
He is a very healty and very luvly dog now and he doen’t want to hear any English word since I assume he doesn’t want to remind his old cruel British owners.
Why Turkey? I protest Spain which kills dogs, bulls, even donkeys by TORTURING in the name of tradition. We are in 2008!
Spain is in Europe (which means nothing to me but which means it has to obey common laws), but Spain has no respect to life… I have been in Turkey for holidays; They don t have traditions such as torturing animals in front of everyone…
I have been in Spain too. And believe me what I have seen in Spain was disgusting… I do not accept such traditions…
to the shameful turkish guy;
i am turk too and ashamed of you,
animal life is important as much as human life,
but i guess ur life is worth nothing
cuz u r less than an animal
sorry for u brother,
every single life must be important for us,
even an ant’s
Hi there,
I am Turkish and I live in one of those south west coast towns that you tell people not to go. I admit that we have so much to do for animal rights and their well being. I am a member of one of the animal lover’s societies in Turkey and I am actively involved.
What you are trying to do here is so shallow, so cheap, so easy and so not right. Like a lot of Turkish people wrote in their messages, it sounds so political. My dearest “Contemporary Country Citizens” who did not move a finger while millions of people were being murdered in the middle of Europe in former Yugoslavia, who does not give a damn while a country is being erased from the face of the Earth in Middle East how well you try to gang up against Turkey as always been done instead if giving a hand, instead of warning the government and municipalities directly. Instead of being a constructive tool to achieve solutions, being a weapon……how typical.
Yes there are maniacs in Turkey like all around the world. Yes there are bloody animal torturers in Turkey like every where else in the world. Yes we are not “Contemporary” enough, yet, to appreciate animals. Yes we have so much to do. Yes there is a problem here to be solved. However this is not the way to solve it.
Loving, protecting, helping come from the heart not from the nationality. To punish the whole nation because a few maniacs and because of the ignorance of the authorities is really so unfair..
If you are real animal lovers give us a hand, lets work on this together. If not please stop this stupidity.
Sorry James, but I am a Turk… like many others who do not whine and give unrelevant excuses.
why dont you open a webpage for Canada?
They kill every year thousands seals and polar bears, white whales, sharks, doplhins?
I live in Istanbul, and I am a witness of this SYSTEMATIC killing. (I’m Turkish, unfortunately).
And these are only a tiny fraction of all.
DO NOT COME to TURKEY.
Don’t pay the barbarians.
I have been to Turkey before and it really is a haven. Unfortunately, animals are killed everywhere. Not only in Turkey. OK, these photos are not nice but you just can’t blame whole Turkey and start a hate campaign for something a couple of people did. I will come to Turkey again and again. One of the most beautiful countries in the world.
I’m from turkey. Yes these are all true. And please do not visit my country. Cause all these massacres are about “tourism”. They are killing animals for “you”. So do not come, and don’t let your friends…
Oldurulen insanlari gecelim, oldurulen hayvanlardan birisinin sizin kendi kopeginiz oldugunu bir an dusunun. Oyle oldugunu farz edin.

As a vegetarian for 18 years, I do see no difference between humans and animals. They suffer the same pain. Just because they can not speak does not mean they are inferior. After all, we humans speak but dont get along or understand each other. I do agree that my country, Turkey has committed terrible crimes against animals; we don’t have proper laws for protecting animals. But let’s face it. Canada terribly kills baby harp seals. Baby harps are killed with clubs. Take a look at http://www.harpseals.org/hunt/faqs.html to see how evil men could be. Will you stop going to Canada too? What about Switzerland cat fur trade? I hope you will not visit Switzerland either. Chinese eat dogs and cats as far as I know. Kazaks love eating horses. Your comments about Turkey show your bias. But let me tell you, the majority of people in my country dislike about what happens to animals. Again majority of them feed stray dogs and cats. They work so hard to make changes. But in the US, when a dog in a kennel house is not adopted within 2 weeks, they are killed by injection. That is a known fact! However, in Turkey, they are not. What about that? Be fair! Be objective! Be human! When the whole world is committing the most terrible crimes against animals, picking only Turkey is just predudice and not constractive at all.
I’m a German living in Turkey. Istanbul to be precise. I understand the reasoning behind this petition and find animal cruelty to be a crime that deserves the absolute harshest punishment there is. Animals have the same’ if not more so, a right to live in a peaceful environment without mistreatment.
I am very disturbed at the many comments on this site, using this horrible situation to rant racial slurs against an entire country.
I lived in the United States for over twenty years and I have seen more animal cruelty there than I have anywhere else.
There is no denying that these atrocities are being committed. One expects nothing less of a Government such as the current administration (AKP). They have broken so many laws in this country already that this is just another black spot on an already tarnished image.
I am fully behind bringing these criminal murderers to justice, but one cannot color an entire nation evil because of the deeds of a few.
I moved to Turkey because I fell in love with the kind-hearted people and the beauty of this place. In Istanbul alone we have thousands of street cats and dogs. Thousands of people ( including myself and my wife) make sure everyday that there is fresh food and water for them. You can see water/ food dishes at just about every other door or on every other window sill.
So yes, there are some uneducated people who are just plain idiots ( such as the Tourism Minister and his government cohorts), but to blame an entire nation for these horrific events is really biased and unnecessary.
Yes, lets go after those who are to blame for these murderous actions in the name of tourism, but don’t hurt hard working animal loving folks by cutting off their lifes’ bread.
If you have never been to Turkey, you should really keep your mouth shut until you’ve seen with your own eyes what a beautiful and wonderful people the Turks are.
As for the current administration ( which by the way is adorably loved and supported by the Bush Administration), they will hopefully be closed down and brought to justice for ALL their crimes against not just the poor animals, but the people of this country as well.

It’s for sure that this kind of actions against animals are unacceptable. Hurting even an ant shouldn’t be excused, it’s %100 for sure. I’m completely agreed this kind of actions against animals should stop or be stopped immediately.
But, the real thing about this website which attracts my attention is the campaign under the name of’refuse to travel Turkey’. What’s the relation between ‘travelling Turkey’ and ‘malicious actions against animals’? If you create a campaign like this, you should begin with ‘refuse to go shopping centers’ where you can find lots of animal parts are seperated into different parts and are presented for sale. Killing that cows with modern systems under ultra-hygenic conditions make your visits legal to shopping centers, I think. Besides, I bet my everything on that the passports of that campaign creators have USA stamps (where the execution still being committed, legally) and China stamps (where you can go to any butcher to take an alive cat and choke in with your bare hands to keep it’s meat fresher and more delicious).
According to those words, I should admit that I have found this campaign is completely contradictory and intentional. Making a connection between Travel and this news is ridiculous.
I’m not defending that actions against animals moreover I’m working to stop them.
As a family we love visiting Turkey, But now after knowing of these barbaric crimes to animals .we will never come again .
I will tell everyone about this and advise them to also boycott Turkey.
Turkish Aurthorities – You Have Brought Shame to Your Country and its People – Shame on you !
I am British , I and my family visit Turkey regularly and have done for over 8 years,
I love Turkey, its people and its dogs,
It is no good people coming here and saying this is all lies as I have seen it for myself – and it is getting worse not better.
Just recently in Didim hundreds of dogs ” disappeared ” They will be found , probably dead , but at least then there will be even more proof of the mass killings.
Antalya – more dead dogs !
So how can anyone say this is not true, The pictures say it all !
And before anyone mentions how many animals I eat – I dont as I am Vegan !
Hi all,
First up im from Belgium.
I do come often to Turkey on Holiday or visiting friends and family!
People here claiming that none of these killings is happening? Then i suggest open your eyes cos your lying to yourself!
I have seen so much of this cruelty in Turkey myself and God knows how much i tried to help to stop this!
It is horrible and insane!
But i must say this aswell, not going to Turkey on holiday is not helping these animals either!
These animals also depends on the tourists, cos they get fed by them and even brought to vets for treatment!
TOURISTS must realise that boycotting Turkey for holidays is making the problem worst for the straydogs and cats!
Pointing a finger to every turk isnt fare either! There are alot of good TURKS who are caring and trying to help!
A note to all the turks:
If you see an animal in need then help, if you see somebody abusing an animal then stop it. NOT CLOSE your eyes and ears! Only then we can stand together and help these animals who have also the right to live in your beautifull country!!!!!
Protesting travel to Turkey, believe me, won’t stop any of these massacres. Instead, you all need to come and show your support to animal right defendants in Turkey.
The Federation of Animal Rights is a leading organization which is involved in various activities. They try to increase public awareness about this matter. (http://www.haytap.org)
Yes, uneducated folks do a lot of bad things, all are against animals rights and human ethics, but this is part of a sociological problem.
We feed several dogs who live around our house everyday. We make sure that they constantly have fresh water and something hygienic to eat. Furthermore we have more than 10 cats which we feed in our garden.
But we are exceptions. We live in our own house, we have a garden. We have relatively better standards of living, although I can’t remember a time when we had the chance to travel to foreign countries for some holidays. (I mean we’re not that rich, like you European folks). Neverthless we try to share our life with our cats and dogs as much as possible. Not all people are like us.
I personally warn many people on the street who mistreats stray dogs and cats. But I have to admit that sometimes I just keep quiet. Most of the time animal right defendants are scared of negative public reaction. People keep thinking that there are other humanitarian problems in the country before we think about animals.
Nevertheless I believe an awareness can be succeeded. The fact that there are so many people who own cats or dogs or any other kind of animal which were “bought” from pet-shops shows that at least the community is not totally barbaric. They love and appreciate the friendship of animals. They just need to be educated about “animal ethics”, owning a pet-shop dog and ignoring all street animals would be really disturbing after such an education.
If you wish, please visit Turkey. You will see that the case is not totally like it is on this website. You would meet true animals lovers. You would meet people who dedicated their lives for them. Stray animals are neither alone nor hopeless, because we will always fight for them.
unfortunately, foreigners don’t understand the turkish expressions..one of the most common is “skimden aşaa kasımpaşa” well, if you have a turkish friend please ask what it means..see you in antalya, as always!
I am an animal activist myself and I AM FROM TURKEY. It seems this site is prepared by a Turkish enemy who wants to take Turkey’s name into mud.
If you go to youtube, you can see some of the SAME pictures on this web site on GREEK or USA ANIMAL ABUSE VIDEOS.
We should take care of animals of any kind as human’s best buddy and we should stop drawing a country’s name into mud for historical resentments. IT IS IMMATURE & FRANKLY IGNORANT!
Turkey has a great country to vacation and sight see, and I anyone is welcome
Warm Greetings
i am turkish.all things are true.animals are killed in turkey…they are hungry.i fed some dogs on street and all people become enemy of me.animal lovers are bad in our country.people get angry to animal lovers.because they help the animals.please dont defent wrongs because animals havent any nationality.they havent country.they are only animals.i am turkish, you re turkish.it is not important.animals are dying…

Shame on you, Turkey ! You got to stop this madness ! Killing inocent animals, doesn’t make sence. And you want to join EU… I guess you got to behave normal and respect animal rights, then. Thats what we do in EU !!!
OKO ZA OKO – ZUB ZA ZUB. Člověku ktery tohle udělal bych ja udělal to samé.
EYE FOR AN EYE – TOOTH BEHIND TOOTH. Man which this made would I did it all.
Lidé si nezasloží žít na této planetě – stydím se za to že jsem také člověk !!!!!
People not deserve live upon this planet – be bashful behind it that am also man !!!!!
I’m from Armenia and i can say as many others here that it’s really awful!! Turkish guys just stop that animal cruelties!!
Aren’t you ashamed of all these ‘boicots’ referred to your country if it can be a boicot?!! Shame on you!!
I am appalled about the heinous, inhumane practices carried out by the Turkish government on innocent dogs. To be human is to be humane….you have failed the test. I always wanted to visit Turkey because of it’s rich history and culture, but I have changed my mind. I will spend my money elsewhere.
the hell with turkey…MURDERERS…you were murderers 600years ago and u will always stay murderers…NO MORE TURKEY NO MORE TURKEY NO MORE TURKEY
I m citizen of türkish. I m ashamed now. I m old a türkish agent in JITEM( the Gendarme the news organization)
This isnt my job. (animals) but I m know very good, Türkish government support It massacre.
It pains me to say this. Animals life hangs by a thread in Turkey.
words fail me.
sorry for all animals. especially for dogs.
After reading all the comments above.. I am amazed how Turkish people justify themselves by mentioning animal abuse in other countries… yes we all know these things happen all over the world and there are websites such as this for each and every country.. But this one is about Turkey !!
I have never been to Spain because of the torture of bulls, I have never been to Greece because of the torture of the galgos.
I went to Turkey quite ignorant and after seeing so much abuse I have added this country to my list of places not to go !
I do not want to spend any of my hard earned money in any country that stands by and allows its animals to be tortured !
http://www.gencturkhaber.com/van-video-kopek-iskence-eziyet-saban-keskin.html,0aab7
I’m shocked about the several comments. Are they in denial?, are they so stupid?, most likely they do not give a shit what happenes to those poor animals. I know Turkey is devided, what does Islamic people say…..dogs are unclean, is that a reason to torture and brutaly kill those animals? I don’t think so!!! Shame on you. Many of my friends and family who visited Turkey in the past and also saw the brutality and ignorence made a pledge to never ever set one foot in that country again.
And you want to be part of the EU?? Over my dead body!!!
I CONDEMN the TORTURE, CRUELTY and MURDER of INNOCENT animals ANYWHERE it happen’s in this world. For the one’s that have blood on their hand’s, they WILL oneday, meet their maker for he has created all of us, animal or human we ALL have a soul. We are to CARE for animal’s as they DEPEND on us. It is time to TEACH our children to have COMPASSION, to feed an animal when it is hungry, take it in from the cold, and NEVER cause it any harm. Animal’s have so much love to give, if we show love we will get it back tenfold, Dog’s and cat’s have their own personaltie’s just as we do, they are all different soul’s. Teach your children WELL for they will be the one’s that will oneday CHANGE this world. Be a VOICE for the animals SPEAK OUT for them WHEN you see an injustice being done to them DO NOT ALLOW it to happen! EDUCATE your children! WE can CHANGE thing’s one country at a time, “NOW IS THE TIME”.
All countries have their shame on animal cruelty, we all have reasons to hold our heads in shame, there is no purpose in justifying one’s countries cruelty with comparsion of another. There is no place for any ANIMAL CRUELTY in any country- it is irrelevant – worldwide, we must fight against any animal that is being abused, is suffering, we must fight to stop animal cruelty.
I see China,Spain ,Canada, and Greece mentioned here as being countries in which animals are as appallingly treated as they are in Turkey. Absolutely true – but cruelty in any country does not in any way justify cruelty in another. As Somone Duffin in the previous post states – no country is free from blame or shame – and those of us who won’t visit Turkey because of its hideous cruelty to animals, would not dream of visiting any of those other countries, either.
I commend those good people who are working on behalf of the animals – in Turkey,China,Spain,Canada – every country in the world has its good people as well as the sadistic monsters. Hopefully – one day the good people will prevail!
I live in Turkey,İzmir. It’s true that most of the countries are cruel to the animals. But I’ve only witnessed the cruelty in my country. There are thousands and thousands dogs, cats and other animals killing by the municipalities, every year and this is only have been doing for the tourists. The authority thinks the animals make a dirty, ugly appearence and they think this is effects tourism. In Turkey, before summer they always poison
dogs and those kind of animals. And like in this sitiation, whats happening in İstanbul, always happens in big cities in Turkey. They always kill animals with disgusting ways, for the public2s sight-pleasure.I don’t care that is my country, any country which does that does not deserves a good economy,I don’t care if there is no foreign exchange coming in here.We don’t have the right to treat animals like that, they are not our property. So,PLEASE DON’T COME TURKEY AND DONT GO TO OTHER COUNTRıES LİKE THIS
dear all,
i read all of this, may force be with you.we the human beings will always be same in every around the universe.bad ones and good ones just believe in peace dont let the politics convert you.as soon as the world refesh itself may force be with you.
Please have a heart & compassion for these poor animals. Stop the cruelty now before any more get hurt. Let this place be a better future for the next generation. Let our future children enjoy the sight of happy, healthy animals in good care and in loved homes. Let’s live in harmony with animals & the world.
It’s a shame !
I condemn the torture, cruelty and murder of innocent animals
I put Turkey on the list of countries like Thailand and China. I have been to Turkey once and i was horrified at the number of starays. This does not happen in civilized countries. They say progress of the society can be judged by the way it treats their homeless and animals. Why would i possibly wanna discover a culture that does THAT to animals?! And all those people here who r saying that Turkey is a heaven: R u in denial or something???
I’m absolutely disgusted.
.
Turkey needs to step up and put animal welfare laws into place.
This sick country is definitely off my travel destinations.
BOYCOTT TURKEY
Do you know that if you refuse to travel to Turkey, you will harm Nature even more? They spend money on nature care and protection. Without tourism, Turkey is dead. But all of you can protest whatever you want, that will make no sense
80% of tourists in Turkey are Russians!
This is cruel! They have no right to harm innocent animals!!
What the hell are you talking about? Animals are being killed in every country on the Earth. So, why don’t you refuse to go to Canada. They kill seals and polar bears in there. Why don’t you refuse to go to China? They kill dogs in there. According to the Turkish traditions (rather, the Islamic traditions) the believing people sacrifice sheep, chicken etc. and i am against this as you do. But you cannot charge about 70.000.000 people with this crime. Please, be realistic, you shall see what i mean.
1) just because it happens in other places doesn’t make this ok – congratulations for posting this information. ANY type of large-scale cruelty to animals ANYWHERE in the world should be exposed…
2) animals ARE killed in other countries, but often this killing is not as brutal or cruel (poison, beating, torture) like the ones shown here. if you can’t tell the difference obviously you feel nothing for animals…
3) everyone knows that not all turkish people are animal killers… but it does seem that in GENERAL, turkish society doesn’t care enough about animals to do anything about this, to stop this repeated torture and barbaric treatment from happening, and in my opinion, any such society should be ignored by animal lovers…
GO LAMTHIAN!
I’m a Turk living in Istanbul, too. I fully support this campaign. The reality that in every other country animals are killed and tortured doesn’t change the fact in Turkey!
Same campaing should be conducted against especially Canada and China, too!
