Dear Turkish Minister of Tourism Ertugrul Gunay,
Are you reading this? 310 persons from all around the world are refusing to travel to Turkey. 310 and counting by the second. We believe you and your minister of finance can do the math right? You must know the statistics better than us; take the daily amount of money the average tourist spends in Turkey, multiply that by 310 and you will get the figure. The ongoing massacre of animals in the touristic destinations of Turkey is costing you that much money in lost revenues.
Let us introduce you our minister in a bit more detail from his own profile on his ministry’s web page. Mr. Gunay is a lawyer (apparently, he doesn’t know that it is in fact against the law in Turkey to murder stray animals). He introduces himself as a “friend of the nature and the environment“.
In our book, being a “friend of the nature and the environment” means that you are friend of stray animals too. Call us old-fashioned if you want, but that is just how it is.
Here is what common sense dictates.
1. It is against the law to murder stray animals in Turkey.
2. Turkey has a tourism minister who is a lawyer.
3. Turkey has a tourism minister who is also a friend of the nature and the environment.
4. Given 1,2,and 3, Turkey should not be “cleaning up” the stray population in its touristic destinations every summer before tourists arrive.
Again, Hellcome to Turkey!. None of the above applies. The murder goes on.
As a result, we have decided to take justice into our own hands. Thanks to each one of you who will sign our petition, the murder will come to an end.
We will make sure that the minister personally receives every single signature on this petition.
Hey minister, will you wake up and do something about this?

the minister is a coward.as we all know. he after all these years became a fundamentalist from beeing a republican.you cant expect much from a guy that sells his soul for fame and fortune.
First of all i like to say hello.
You should know that many people in Turkey also don’t like Minister or Akp.
But what you are doing is wrong. Why? Let me explain.
First of all, In every country animals can be damaged by people. Not only Turkey. It could be also in your country. And we can photograph it, then we can publish those photographs like you do.
For example we could publish these ;
1. Holigans from U.K. have been murdering many people for Soccer.
2. United States Soldiers are murdering Baghdadi innocent People.
I can continue all these massacres. And i can say “Don’t go to U.K. or Don’t go U.S.A. – Hell on earth for human beings”
I want just say that, torturing or killing animals is very bad thing its certain, but you can not publish Turkey as a cruel country. And you can not show Turkey as a very barbarian Country to people that don’t have an opinion about Turkey.
Farewell.
Hey turkeyhell123 !!!
what is your problem with turks. I think one guy damaged your family or you’re a terrorist. Keep it on.. Good moving.
In turkey %75 of people don’t like akp and also mr. gunalp.
About the animals: yes sometimes our people damaged the animals but not like canadian people or us people. Because That countries’s people damaged to people.
Do your best..
hey everybody !!! Don’t come to turkey. Go to England or USA. That’s all…
Hey English people, Are you imagine while weaking up every morning “How to kill Iraq’s children by USA and British soldiers like dogs shown your picture ? Even can you say similar words over my sentence? What a shame. At this second, in North Polar, How many Bear Fish killed by Canadian Fisherman shooting their head with a kind of handtool? What kind of reaction done by yourself about this subject until now? Can you say “What kind of reaction done by yourself about how many whale killed by Japon Fishermen hundred and hundred? Please think twice before write some subject. You have prejudice about Turkish people. This manner about dogs not common in Türkiye, this is wrong action but only one or two parts in Türkiye. All animals have life rights also All Iraq’s Children have.
Mehmet Ali ALDEMİR, in Türkiye, I love all animals
News have arrived to Italy and South America…so you better be alert…
I’d like to reply to Just turkish, as I imagine you have understood, It’s not about the country, but about the Government not doing anything about this massacre…I’m sure Turki is a very nice country, but the point of the message is to “catch the government’s attention”…Saying “dont’ go to Turki” wont make tourist who do want to go there change their minds…but what’s happening there should be said, because it’s part of that country…maybe local animal associations should take advantage of the fact that turki has lots of turism, by informing turist and making them donate little money to fight this and to build appropiate spaces for all those inocent animals that, at the moment have their destiny already signed.
Celine
Would you kill people?
Why you do it on the helpless animals?
miserable ones are not the animals in Turkey, poor miserables are the poeple who are becoming a tool for global anti- propaganda against the MOST BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD under the name of animal lovers…
Well Sir hope your reading this one because i have great news for you and the mayors involved in these massacres it went out yesterday on the radio in South Africa about the way TURKEY treats its animals and Yes Sir 40,000 people were listening to this interview now will you stop it because if you don,t there will be more and more interviews given this is illegal and cruel and people will not stand by and let you get away with this what is your answer now and please do not tell me that this is not happening because we know dam well it is happening all over Turkey Please stop it now and leave these animals alone and if you cannot understand what I,m saying may I suggest you get an interpreter in to tell you what I,ve written this could ruin the tourism in Turkey because TOURISTS DON,T WANT THIS and further more isn,t it about time that some education was given to the people on how to treat animals
you people who are Turkish are getting this wrong we have nothing against every day people it is just the people that are doing these things to the animalls I have been to turkey for the last four years and i have loved the people and your country but what is being done to these animals is wrong and you as Turkish people should tell the people involved to stop this I have nothing against Turkey as a country but the way these animals are being treated is inhumane and have they told you what they are doing to them try this and let me assure you there is proof of this dumping the dogs in forests and remote areas and letting them die of hunger and thirst and another way they do it is poison them is that right and may I tell you that not everyone agreed with Irag and yes me amnd my family have been donating to the dog shelter for years
hmmmmmmmmmm seems my comment has mysteriously disappeared,,,how strange
