Here is proof of that. Death orders for stray animals signed back to back on 11, 14 and 15 July 2008 by the Beykoz municipality of Istanbul. Papers authorizing the “culling team” of Beykoz to check out a public vehicle from the municipal parking lot for each one of these days.
And where do these orders apply to? “All of Beykoz” those little boxes say. All of Beykoz, indiscriminately, everywhere and anywhere. Until all of Beykoz is cleared of all stray animals.

Having checked out the public vehicle, the culling team of Beykoz executed their mission meticilously. They are indeed close to the “final solution” in Beykoz – only a handful of dogs are left in the area today. Below is a sample of their work.
Isn’t that really masterful on the part of the Beykoz culling team? Actually, it has to be noted that nothing compares to Beykoz. It is a unique case. Essentially, Beykoz defined cruelty to animals in recent times. Its unprecedented methods of torturing and killing animals have heralded a new era in the history of cruelty to animals in Turkey, and set an “inspiring” example to other municipalities in and around the country.
Sign this petition to express how disgusted you are with all of this. In fact, sign it not once but three times – for every death order issued by the Beykoz municipality.
And don’t forget to congratulate Mr. Muharrem Ergul, the mayor of Beykoz, for his leadership of the ongoing Turkey animal massacre.

It is a matter of civilization.
I will not visit Turkey as long this massacre happens!! And Turkey wants to enter in Europe!
I was planning to visit Turkey as a tourist but, with this knowledge, going to visit Turkey is impossible. My friends

The pictures are horrific, dogs and cats dead in deep suffering, as we know that poisoning is one of the more cruel deaths, put in bans like garbage.
We don’t understand why it is so difficult for you to handle the number of stray animals. The spay and neuter campaigns are working very well all around Europe, and even recently Romania and Bulgaria have adopted European standards, helped by reknown organisations as Four Paws (VierPfoten).
Why don’t you ask them to help you? It wouldn’t cost you anything and you’d stop getting this sad reputation Turkey has had for a long time of being a cruel place for animals.
Besides, is it so difficult to consider the fact that animals are sentient beings, that they can feel love, fear or suffering? And that they are so useful to people in many ways?
Please stop the killing, open shelters, accept help and advises, and let the volunteers and animals rights activists care about this. They know their job!!
