On 4 October 2008 World Animal Day, people from all around the world will come together and hold rallies in different cities to tell Turkey to stop cruelty toward stray animals once and for all. Period. Their counterparts will be holding a similar rally in Istanbul.
This will be one final warning to Turkey – unless the Turkish authorities start showing good will in the field of animal rights with immediate effect following World Animal Day, a global coalition of organizations will launch a new campaign for Turkey to be excluded from all international cultural, sporting and similar events, including all activities funded by the European Union.
If you too have had enough of the horrendous treatment of stray animals in Turkey, attend one of these rallies on 4 October 2008:

Hello,
I noticed your blog that deals with Animal Abuse and thought this might interest you. My sisters and I have a band called Truth On Earth. We write, produce, and sing original songs about major problems in the world such as Factory Farming, Cyberbullying, Starvation and Child Abuse to name a few. 70% of our profits go to those who are working on real solutions so that we can get earth on track and leave a planet worth inheriting to future generations. We would appreciate any networking suggestions you might have that would help us get the word out to a wider audience. At truthonearthband.com you can hear our music and read more about our mission. We just added our first music video “Factory Farm” to our youtube page as well.
My direct email is kiley@truthonearthband.com
Hope to hear from you. Thanks,
Kiley

hello i am a turk living in greece. will there be somathing like that also in greece somewhere. Otherwise if you send me some material i can put them to our banquet (veria animal friends associiaton) on the 4th of october.
things like this leave me lost for words – i hope that the people that make these innocent animals suffer will get what they deserve – hence what goes round come around…
unfortunately i cannot make it to these meetings you have organised but i will be there in thought – good luck and i hope that this will do some good, i will certainly not visit turkey – it has been wiped off the globe for myself and my family!
SHAME ON ALL THOSE WHO LET THIS CRUELTY HAPPEN. I WILL NEVER TRAVEL TO SUCH A COUNTRY.
Dear “Turkey Boykotters”
What have YOU done to help these animals? While you were enjoying your life in your Wealthy country, turkish animal supporters have set up organisation which are helping to find loving homes for animals in turkey.

and there are 100s others.
So turkey will eventually get there but it will need support not just from turkish citizens but from others too.
These animals are not just the responbibility of turks.. they are the responsibility of all HUMANS.. including YOU!!!!
….so keep supporting animal organisations and travel turkey.
I wish on 04.10 worldwide a big scream which is to be heard till Turkey! This coldblooded killing must stop. They must learn to have respect for the life!
