Here comes the million-dollar question: will Turkey’s mayors ever stop murdering stray animals? The answer, it seems, is a big no….
Just as soon as we reported to you the recent poisoning spree in the city of western city of Izmir, we received news of another one. This time in the Tercan area of the eastern city of Erzincan.

Murder all around, from the east to the west…

And they are getting more audacious each time; they don’t even bother to hide the evidence any more. They leave the syringes used to poison the dogs stuck in their bodies – no fear whatsoever that the syringe might be traced back to them.

Why should they fear? There is no justice for stray dogs here… Things work in a rather twisted way as far as animal justice is concerned. The animal rights defenders who have uncovered the mass murder of Antalya dogs
http://turkeymassacre.wordpress.com/2008/10/29/no-justice-for-antalya-dogs/
last May have themselves been put on trial – charged with “endangering public health”. Those who murdered the animals got away with it…
So, the answer seems to be: NO, THEY WILL NEVER STOP.

Monsters!!! This must be stopped: these murders must be charged and punished by the law. The law exist, even in Turkey (hard to believe but true: ANIMAL PROTECTION BILL LAW no. 5199) and it must be applied!!!
To whom can we write to complain? Does anybody have a list of e-mail addresses?
Now, even we in Sweden have read and seen pictures of what is going on in Turkey in dogs. What the hell is that people are doing. Dogs are of flesh and blood just as we humans and have also feelings. This is not only purely brutal murder, SHAME, I say only. Want to go out with this all over the whole of Sweden and I hope that all Swedes who have heart boycotting turkey as holiday. Would be grateful if I received a mail to your mayor so that you can send a long email to him and talk about what he is a shit that sounds like this last.
Greetings Carina from sweden
I noticed you put at the bottom the adress of the governor of Erzincan. Did you mean we have to write him? I will.
I can not believe these pictures and I can not believe that so many people can’t do anything about this big problem. It makes me sick to my stomach. Someone in Turkey have to speak up and tell these heartless monsters to stop or even better kill them the same way they kill these innocent animals. This is a bad repuation for Turkey as well because of some dirt bags killing these innocent dogs..I pray to God that they will get what they deserve. God bless the rest of these dogs in the streets
Some of the email addresses do not work. Please provide snail mail, physical addresses so we can write protest letters. Thank you for your work. Our hearts are breaking for these precious souls tortured, abandoned and murdered.
I am so mad at Turkish officials,,, I agree, does anyone have a postal address , I would like to write as I know a lot of emails just go into their spam filters.
It is a matter of civilization to stop this cruelty.
Instead of cooperating with animal welfare associations, to neuter/spay animals to control their number, the Authorities prefer to go on with a massacre. Civil people can’t tolerate anymore that kind of behaviour, mostly because the killing doesn’t come from a someone who declared war to animals, but from those who MUST protect animals. The whole world is looking at Turkey, thay cannot think to be part of UE if they allow and accept all that horror
They are at it again it makes me sick to think that ordinary humans could do this to any animal it is barbaric cruelty, and as for leaving the syringes in the dogs ,have they never heard of infections ,what if an adult or a child picked one of those up they could end up with no end of different things including aides ,The country is in a huge mess with all these massacres, when are they going to realize that killing is not the way forward, how utterly stupid can these officials be ,and who the hell are they listening to , they think by doing it this way it will be a quick fix ,what a joke that is ,the only way to stop unwanted strays is by neutering and spaying can,t they see the logic in it, no puppies or kittens no stray cats or dogs in time, everything takes time ,but this is no way to cure the problem by massacring thousands of stray animals ,these officials mayors etc are adding to the problem by doing this, instead of listening to The World Health Organisation who have set the guidelines on how to tackle this situation, I will not go to Turkey until this stops and for sure I don,t want to get prick by one of the needles, that has every kind of infection on it ,it is barbaric cruelty, and it is also disgusting that tourists see these dogs with needles sticking out of them, and yes they have seen it ,you can,t hide anymore Turkey ,the world knows what you are doing to the animals, it is disgusting barbaric cruelty.
There are plenty of animal charities that would help them, big organistations, but they seem a mindless, cruel, barbaric, lot of mayors and officials that need poisoning not the animals.I hope the world turns against them for what they do, them and Greece. I do not want to finance their economy at all. And the most money i spent in Zakthynos last september, was for the animals on donations and buying food, they have a wonderfull charitiy over there called Z.A.W.F and them and the tourists were the only people that look after the street animals, it seems the locals in greece and turkey are as hard as nails.
A fish stinks first in the head …
haughty lawbreakers, liars before man. No respect for the life. The EU is informed. In Germany there will be in the parliament about that a debate. We will not stop informing about it. The Turkish persons responsible discredit themselves worldwide more and more…
And apparently humans are meant to be a civilised species, we are the biggest disgrace on this planet.
This is beyond belief and Turkey should be ashamed of committing such horrible acts.I will never set foot on Turkish soil as long as this continues.Disgraceful!
MALDITOS HIJOS DE PUTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NO PIENSO VIAJAR A ESTE PAIS DE ASESINOS.OJALA EL PLANETA ESTALLE Y LA ESPACIE HUMANA DESAPAREZCA PARA SIEMPRE.SOMOS LA DESTRUCCIÓN,EL DESEQUILIBRIO,LA MALDAD Y SOMOS EL VERDADERO INFIERNO PARA LA VIDA Y LA CREACIÓN
The EU should do something PLEASE!!!
This must not happen!
The Turks may not make these atrocities!
The people are so evil!
I pray for the Turkish animal welfare advocates, in Turkey to help these poor animals.
But unfortunately, there are far too few…

il faut stopper le masacre de ces pauvres bêtes, c´est inhumain, indigne et honteux!!!
Let there be a law that protects the rights of animals. Let the law speak for them & protect them at all times. Give them a right to live. The freedom to live a happy, fulfilling life.
This makes me sick to my stomach and chills me to the very bone. These are living, breathing, helpless creatures that experience emotion, desire…they have the ability to bring down a person’s blood pressure and prolong one’s life when one stroke’s them; they can predict when a human is about to have a seizure and throws themselves on top of them to protect them until the seizing stops…..and here they are strewn about like garbage, having been deliberately and shamelessly murdered and left to rot in the streets. I can only pray that people with the power and the sense to do something about this will put a stop to this cruel and unnecessary cold-blooded murdering of these animals and provide them with the shelter and care they deserve.
To Carina in Sweden – yes, here in Australia too we are becoming aware of,and sickened by, the monstrous atrocities inflicted on these poor animals.
The sheer brutality is difficult for ordinary decent people to comprehend, particularly considering that there are so many animal orgs willing to provide aid and advice on HUMANE solutions to this problem, which has been created wholly by the irresponsibility and callousness of so-called “HUMANS”!
Certainly none of my family or friends would even consider visiting such a cruel and uncivilised country.
Pam from Australia.
Bu katliamlarlı yapanlar insan olamaz….Allah’ınız yok mu be sizin…bartık o görsün de inşallah cezanızı o versin…
Ones who does this masacre are not human beings..Don’t you believe in God. I hope god sees you and punishes you..
You have to stop it right away!
some international “body” must go there in person- why not international orgs. international ARAs to form that body -and go there to intervene!
this is outrageous- 5th year in a row we are writing- majors are keep changing- but killing is not stoping!
WE MUST GO THERE- NOTHING CAN BE DONE TROUGH EMAILS WHICH THEY DONT READ.
This is horrible! poor dogs.
Please STOP!!!
Turkish stray animals are living the same Hell on earth as Greek strays…
Lets fight this atrocity together.
Lets put pressure on our goverments through EEC’s Legislature,to apply the Laws and support streets dogs.
The only way to stop these horrible massacres is to press the Authorities to accept their responsibilities and condemn
these awful acts.
god damn every killer.ı sincerely hope every individual who partipicated in killing these innocent dogs will share the same end.
I have written to the Turkish Ambassador in London. Turkey have been given money by EU to clean up their animal welfare issues. EU is watching them closely as they want to get into EU.
Let Turkey know you won’t visit their country.
Every living thing is a creature of God.
Why can’t people realise this?
Hi Guys
I like the idea of writing to the Turkish Embassy , lets bury them under a mountain of letters they cant delete letters.
Ann
Honte à vous tortionnaires ! Vous êtes la honte de notre univers, des parasites et ne méritez aucune clémence pour vos actes de cruauté. Puiss-t-il y avoir une justice et vous faire subir le même sort que vous réservez à des être innocents !
